This year at the Zomer Jazz Fiets Tour (Summer Jazz Bike Tour) in Groningen, Doek has 4 ensembles performing. The Fiets tour is one of our favorites in the Netherlands as it not only has excellent programming, it also happens to be one of the funnest festivals anywhere. (We even borrowed the idea for our own festival – Doek has included a bike tour in our last 4 festivals with great success.…

Uitmarkt is one of the biggest cultural events in the Netherlands, drawing an audience of over 450,000 people and presenting over 300 performances in just 3 days. This year should be especially festive as it marks the 40th year of Uitmarkt.

Six top musicians from Doek musicians’ collective and the Instant Composers Pool will come together to teach, work and play with you at the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague (NL). To round off the week, a short concert tour will include Amsterdam’s renowned Bimhuis.

DOEK, BAREFOOT & ILK: A COLLECTIVE OF COLLECTIVES

Doek musicians are looking forward to playing for the first time with improvisers from two Copenhagen collectives, Barefoot Records and ILK Music. In a voyage of discovery the 10 musicians will play free improvisations as well as utilizing composed elements. Come along on Thursday and Friday evening to hear music fresh from the makers!
Then Doek heads to Copenhagen from July 12 – 15 to perform in various constellations on the Barefoot and ILK stages at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival.…
