Feecho – Live at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival

Feecho, the duo of Kaja Draksler and Onno Govaert, has just released a new live album on Doek RAW, Live at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival. Last summer, a couple of Doek groups toured in Canada and performed at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival. This recording comes from that tour. This concert was recorded live at the Ironworks in Vancouver by Ron Ruiten and mixed and mastered by Daniele Martini. Artwork, once again, by Sara Anke.

We had the chance to practice 3 days extensively. We got ourselves to the point that we could play the music (the ideas) well and fresh.…

As things now stand this means that Doek will have no structural funding from the beginning of next year. We are currently considering our options – what is certain is that we have plenty of plans for the future, and want to continue to contribute to the development of improvised music, work with our many partners, and share our music with our audience, locally, nationally and internationally.…
