Doek @ Eye

In 2015 Doek musicians will continue to play at Eye cinema. They will provide a live accompaniment to a selection of Jean Desmet’s films. Each night a curator makes a special selection from Desmet’s work.

January 8
19.15 hr: Between insanity & scholarship: lecture by Diederik Jekel
Self-declared nerd Diederik Jekel is fascinated by the years when Desmet released his films: it is the same era which saw the rise of modern physics. With live music by Yedo Gibson and Kaja Drakzler.

19.30 hr: Communiceer! Oude en nieuwe media: lecture by Pawel Pokutychi
Films from the Desmet collection with live music by Yannis Kyriakides and Andy Moor.

February 27
20:00 hr: Klassenstrijd – Geerten Waling presents Desmet films with live music by Wilbert de Joode and Michael Vatcher.

16.00 hr: A woman in pants – Nelleke Noordervliet presents Desmet films with live music by Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti and Oscar Jan Hoogland.

19.15 hr: Dansepidemie in de Jaren 10. Suzy Blok presents Desmet films with live music by Mary Oliver, Michael Moore and Oscar Jan Hoogland.
