As part of its 40th anniversary the Bimhuis gives has given carte blanche to the wonderful sax player Tobias Delius, in an adventurous exchange between musicians from Berlin and Amsterdam, featuring drummer Christian Lillinger.

Tenor sax and clarinet player Tobias Delius moved to Amsterdam 25 years ago putting his stamp on the local improv scene as a member of ICP Orchestra and many other bands. With his own bands he has also performed regularly at the Bimhuis.

Around 5 years ago Delius moved from Amsterdam to Berlin. His carte blanche is informed by his Berlin experiences. The first band is a trio with Doek double bassist Wilbert de Joode and trumpet player Liz Allbee. Allbee is a Berlin based experimental sound artist who will make her Bimhuis debut.

After the break Christian Lillingers Grund will take the stage. The adventurous, super energetic drummer Lillinger (1984) is a fixture on the Berlin jazz scene. His septet features pianist Achim Kaufmann, another Berlin musician with several links to the Amsterdam scene.
