Han Bennink and Oscar Jan Hoogland will play at the renowned Moers Festival this Friday June 6. After a set of 45 double basses and a solo set of Marc Ribot it is their turn to surprise each other and the audience.

Herbert Nouwens has an exhibition of 25 of his fantastic and often monumental sculptures in the Westerpark. Doek will be interacting musically with these works from 21 June until 31 august. To open and close the exhibition we’re planning a little something with Available Jelly (21 June) and the Bakfietsband (31 August). At 17:00 every Saturday afternoon in between (28 June – 23 August) a Doek musician will perform solo around the sculptures. Details of who and where to follow………

Doek @ Zaal 100 – Sunday 25 May – 8pm – free
On Sunday May 25 Doek returns to Zaal 100 for Doek @ Zaal 100, a monthly meeting place for music, discussion, art, drinks and friendship. It’s free and starts at 8 pm. This Sunday Michael Moore (alto sax, clarinet) meets, talks and plays with two Canadian guitarists who are passing through town – Ken Aldcroft, from Toronto, and Vancouver-based Jeff Younger (photo left). One point of discussion will be regional variations in improvised music and the importance thereof.…

Voorlopig staat er nog altijd geen maat op het mooiste improvisatiefestival van de Lage Landen. Na de vijf dagen van 2013, wordt in 2014 uitgepakt met een zesdaags festival, waarbij opnieuw een resem internationale gasten grote sier komt maken aan de zijde van Doek-leden en andere improviserende Nederlanders. Net als vorig jaar kunnen we er enkel bij zijn op hoogdag 3 mei, en net als toen zagen we een paar indrukwekkende concerten.…
Doek Festival #12 came to an end on Sunday 4 May in truly festive style. First off an afternoon of wonderful music during the Amsterdam Real Book Bicycle Tour.
