See you at The Market: Mola Sylla

Mola Sylla is a Senegalese vocalist and percussionist who possesses one of the most powerful voices around. His ability to stay authentic and true to his Dakar roots while improvising with musicians of all backgrounds has made him an incredibly in demand vocalist. He’s collaborated extensively with Ernst Reijseger, often in trio with Harmen Fraanje: aside from their excellent albums, their music has been featured in the films of German film legend Werner Herzog.

Other collaborations include Sylla/Hoogland/Rosaly, which performed at The Present is Present in 2017 and the band Senemali. Since moving to The Netherlands in 1987, Mola has also collaborated with countless musicians from the worldwide impro scene, including Han Bennink, Tristan Honsinger, and William Parker.
