See you at the market: Bacchanalia – La Orquesta
Bacchanalia, which first began as part of the Second Stop is Jupiter series at De Ruimte, has been taking over the Dutch scene with its fiery free improvisational approach to Cumbia music. The band’s performances are chaotic and exhilarating, and inspire no small amount of dancing. Their inspiration comes from Bacchus, the Greco-Roman god of wine, freedom, intoxication and ecstasy, all of which we will have in abundance at Sexyland for the closing performance of the festival. For The Market, leader Miguel Petruccelli has arranged his music, largely original compositions, for a large ensemble featuring the original sextet with guests from Doek and the Amsterdam impro scene.
