New chance for Doek thanks to increased investment in the arts

Last Friday the Minister for Education, Culture and Science, Ingrid van Engelshoven, announced an extra investment of €10 million per year for the arts and culture. The budget of the Performing Arts Fund (FPK) will rise by €9 million per year in the period 2018 – 2020. This money will go to the so-called B category organizations and arts companies whose subsidy application had been approved, but for whom insufficient funds were available. This means that Doek will receive structural subsidy for the next three years. After one and a half years of uncertainty we are thrilled with the news!
And of course we are very happy for all the other category B organizations who will also be funded for the next three years. Congratulations!

Doek gered dankzij nieuwe investering in kunst
Afgelopen vrijdag maakte minister Ingrid van Engelshoven (Onderwijs, Cultuur en Wetenschap) bekend dat ze jaarlijks € 10 miljoen extra investeert in kunst en cultuur. Het budget van het Fonds Podiumkunsten wordt voor de periode 2018 – 2020 opgehoogd met € 9 miljoen euro per jaar. Het geld gaat naar instellingen en gezelschappen uit de zogenaamde b-categorie, die een positieve beoordeling hebben gekregen, maar waar eerder niet genoeg geld voor beschikbaar was.
Dat betekent dat ook Doek de komende drie jaar is gered. Met dit nieuws zijn we – na anderhalf jaar onzekerheid! – heel erg blij mee.

Uiteraard zijn we ook heel blij voor alle andere gezelschappen die gered zijn, zoals Discordia, Dood Paars, Korzo, Orkater, Theatergroep Suburbia, Danstheater AYA, Matzer Theaterproducties and Paul van Kemenade. Gefeliciteerd!
