Franky Douglas, Wolter Wierbos and Michael Moore in Serah Artisan

Two months ago a packed audience in Zaandam’s Serah Artisan were treated to a very special concert with Wolter Wierbos (trombone), Michael Moore (alto sax and clarinet) and Franky Douglas (guitar). If you missed that concert or are eager to hear these three top improvisers again, then you have your chance this Sunday 6 April during the Come Along series in Serah Artisan.
Besides being a gifted guitarist, Frank Douglas is also a formidable composer. His melodies (revealing his roots in Curacao) are pleasing to every ear and sound deceptively simple. Closer examination reveals just how complex and ingenious they really are, the sign of a true composer.
It’s a pity that Douglas doesn’t play more often and that his treasure trove of compositions are restricted to the rehearsal room or even the lounge room. Wolter Wierbos decided to do something about that, together with Michael Moore, another Douglas fan. This trio is the result; beauty, emotion, adventure, humour and sheer pleasure in playing the ingredients. Come Along and hear for yourself at 4 pm this Sunday in Zaandam!
