Biography

Native Speaker’s eccentric sound results from their re-evaluation of the modern jazz tenor trio. Their music displays a bold irreverence for the frontiers separating genres and for the boundaries between predetermination and improvisation. This creates an environment in which trust, spontaneity, and sensitivity take precedence. On their eponymous debut EP, released in 2016, melody-centred compositions are ruthlessly deconstructed through variation and improvisation.
