‘musical espionage’ at Zaal 100
During the first two days of the Doek festival the musicians will be diving into the improvisational laboratory, discovering each other’s musical language and playing together in various line-ups.
How do improvising musicians rehearse? How do they work with composition and improvisation? Find out during open rehearsals at Zaal 100.

-James Fei’s piece will be rehearsed by Nate Wooley, Vincent Chancey, Eric Boeren, Wolter Wierbos, Mary Halvorson, Brandon Seabrook, John Dikeman, and Ingrid Laubrock.

-Kaja Draksler’s new piece will be rehearsed by Wilbert de Joode, Carl Testa, Mary Halvorson, Brandon Seabrook, John Dikeman, Ingrid Laubrock, James Fei, Michael Moore and Onno Govaert.

-All musicians will rehearse a piece by Anthony Braxton.
