Old Adam on Turtle Island originally formed in Amsterdam as a quartet consisting of Polish pianist Marta Warelis, American tenor saxophonist John Dikeman, South-Korean drummer Sun-Mi Hong and Canadian double bassist Aaron Lumley. Starting as an improvising ensemble in 2019, the group evolved into a showcase for Dikeman’s compositions, keeping a major focus on the individual voices of the other idiosyncratic musicians.
Old Adam on Turtle Island is also the name of the compositional series composed for the quartet by John Dikeman which has been released on Relative Pitch.
