Doek is now in full force preparing for the upcoming Doek festival. We’re celebrating three cities that have an incredible history of improvised music and which are as active as ever pushing the art into the future. Highlighting the similarities and the differences of approach, the festival will have a balance of established bands and first time encounters. As part of our collaboration with the Chicago scene, this year will also have a major focus on improvised dance featuring artists from Chicago’s Links Hall as well as dancers from the Amsterdam scene working with a mixed group of musicians from all three cities.
