Doek Festival – see you next year

Doek Festival #12 came to an end on Sunday 4 May in truly festive style. First off an afternoon of wonderful music during the Amsterdam Real Book Bicycle Tour. Three locations in Amsterdam Noord (thanks Open Coop, Café de Ruimte and Roze Tanker!) with William Parker, Mette Rasmussen, Kaja Draksler, George Hadow, Nico Chientaroli, John Dikeman, Ada Rave, Felicity Provan, Benjamin Herman, Oscar Jan Hoogland, Ernst Glerum, Onno Govaert, Anton Goudsmit, Arno Bakker and Gerri Jäger. Then off to Zaal 100 for a delicious three course Indonesian meal – thanks Yvonne and Els – followed by the warm creativity of All Ellington. Warm in more ways than one – the place was packed! Add prosecco and DJ Morsanek (Mark Morse) to the mix and all the ingredients were on hand for a truly festive festival finale.
Thanks to everyone who helped make the festival such a success – the listeners, the cooks, the musicians, the tech and film people, the volunteers. Hope to see you all again next year!
