Third up in See you at The Market: Harald Austbø.
Harald Austbø is known for his creative and original contributions to the theater and music worlds as actor, singer and cellist. He is freakishly talented, equally at home serving the bass role in a jazz group as playing thoroughly notated melodic lines. Quite often, he’ll do both at the same time whilst beatboxing or improvising nonsense rap over top. Something of a highly dependable wild-card, he manages to provide rock solid support to any ensemble he performs with yet remain spontaneous, drawing on a wealth of influences from jazz, classical, rock, pop, samba, hip hop, spoken word, poetry, theater, performance art and improvisation of all sorts.…

John Dikeman solo USA tour

This April John Dikeman completed his first ever solo tour performing 23 concerts in one month across the USA. Aside from solos John also collaborated with Ava Mendoza, James Brandon Lewis, Rob Mazurek, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten, Stefan Gonzalez, Jonathan F. Horne, Death Posture, Adam Shead, Owen Davis, Chris Merz and more. Photographer Sara Anke also joined for part of the trip to document the hours one the road, travelling through the south. During Doek’s two festival nights on 14 and 15 June the Bimhuis will be transformed into a bustling market with stalls, performers, dancers, rabble rousers and, of course, lots of music! doek festival 2019: the market


It’s coming up to Doek Festival time of year again. This year we’re turning the Bimhuis upside down for our own production: The Market. For two glorious days the Bimhuis will be transformed into a meeting place where all sorts of exchanges take place, from goods and services to smells, flavours, cultures, sounds, glances, blushes, curses and currency.
