Onno Govaert’s percussion abilities, which display a rare combination of seemingly unlimited technical resources, great orchestral sense, fearless decision making, sensitivity and unbound energy, all add up to making him one of the best young drummers in improvised music. He’s a member of numerous Doek ensembles: Cactus Truck, Feecho, Kaja Draksler Octet, Stadhouders/de Joode/Govaert, Omawi and The PolyBand.
