Feecho – Live at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival

Feecho, the duo of Kaja Draksler and Onno Govaert, has just released a new live album on Doek RAW, Live at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival. Last summer, a couple of Doek groups toured in Canada and performed at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival. This recording comes from that tour. This concert was recorded live at the Ironworks in Vancouver by Ron Ruiten and mixed and mastered by Daniele Martini. Artwork, once again, by Sara Anke.

Boerenbond Release – For Cor

We’ve just released a recording of the Boerenbond from Doek Festival 2003 in remembrance of Cor Fuhler.

“For Doek Festival 2003 I wrote music for a group with Cor Fuhler (organ and keyolin), Guus Janssen (piano and celesta), Oren Marshall (tuba), Michael Vatcher (trap drums, huge bass drum, gongs) and myself (cornet). We had the chance to practice 3 days extensively. We got ourselves to the point that we could play the music (the ideas) well and fresh.…

Wollo’s Brass Blast

Day 1 of Doek LIVE! at the Peepshow Palace, created by De Warme Winkel, in De Brakke Grond. That’s right, the stage is spinning! And the audience is comfortably seated in their beautiful, individual cabins.

Wollo’s Brass Blast, the quintet trombonist Wolter Wierbos especially put together for the Peepshow Palace, featuring Eric Boeren (cornet), Salvoandrea Lucifora (trombone, sousaphone), Joost Buis (trombone) and Partick Votrian (trombone, tuba, sousaphone).

DOEK Festival 2020 – Doek LIVE!

Yes folks, there will be a LIVE Doek Festival this year! There are limited audience numbers and you need to book in advance – so don’t delay! De Warme Winkel, in collaboration with De Brakke Grond, have created a special performance space, the Peepshow Palace. Every night at 22:30, from 28 – 31 July, you can see a Doek band from your own special cabin. At the Bimhuis we have two special concerts on Saturday 1 August. Only 61 seats available, so get in early.…
