On the path to finding their own ‘voice’ in music, Sanem and George are exploring different musical perspectives. An important one is the melodic approach of Turkish traditional music, and its fusion with other musical genres such as jazz or Brazilian music. Their songs are varied and colorful.

“Sanem and George started as a duo when they first moved to The Netherlands in 2007. I remember seeing them in the basement of the building we all lived in, rehearsing their beautiful arrangement of “Blue Skies”. Already back then they touched me with their musical sincerity, resourceful ideas and emotional strength. They combine their heritage with interests in music and life, and because their personalities, background and musical activities are so different and diverse, their sound is rich and their songs complex and active, sometimes nostalgic and abstract, other times filled with innocence and humor. They take me on a journey and I love it.”
