Doek receives funding for 2017 – Celebration at Zaal 100

slide-eric_boeren3Thanks to the lobbying by Doek and other cultural organisations, the efforts of various political parties (notably SP, D66 and PvdA) and a petition signed by thousands of concerned citizens, the Dutch parliament passed an amendment awarding 10 million euros to arts funding for 2017. This means that Doek will have funding from the FPK for next year! We are very pleased to be able to continue supporting all of the various programs and events that Doek is involved in throughout the year, as well as the Doek Festival which seems to be growing stronger with each new edition.

In celebration, Doek is hosting a mini festival at Zaal 100 on December 20 featuring the Eric Boeren 4tet, Wolter Wierbos solo and John Dikeman, Onno Govaert duo!

– Eric Boeren 4TeT with Michael Moore – alto sax, Eric Boeren – cornet, Wilbert de Joode – bass and Han Bennink – drums.
– Mr Wolter Wierbos plays a solo and
– Duo John Dikeman – tenor sax with Onno Govaert – drums.
Three very diverse Doek outfits. Three different view points on improvisation. Typically Doek.
