Kaja Draksler piano

Kaja Draksler is a jazz pianist and composer originally from Slovenia and now residing in Amsterdam. She obtained her Masters degree in classical composition at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam and her Bachelor in jazz piano at Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen, The Netherlands in 2009. In 2008 she was spending a semester at Purchase Collage (NY). In 2005 she finished High School for Music in Ljubljana (jazz department) and Diocesan Classical Gymnasium Ljubljana.

Kaja Draksler’s current projects include Solo, several Duets; with Onno Govaert (Feecho), Matiss Čudars, and Susana Santos Silvam, and Trio- BadBooshBand. She is also a founding member of Stichting I/O, which works with interdisciplinary performances and new media. 2006-14 Kaja was the leader of Acropolis Quintet. Her first recorded project was an 8-piece ensemble Katarchestra (2007). As a leader or composer she has released nine albums.
