DOEK @ ZAAL – March 30 hosted by Eric Boeren

It goes without saying that the musicians of Doek view improvisation as paramount to their creative process. Many of the Doek groups have an international reputation for their strong combination of improvisation and composition.
How does this relationship work? Can we lift a corner of the veil and give insight into that creative process?

For Sunday, March 30, 2014, we’ve invited two young musicians to form a group with a few members of Doek. In the space of an hour they will work on a composition featuring improvisation and then perform it for the first time. It’s possible that the audience will come up with some good ideas, and that these will be tried out. Or maybe not……..

Trio – Jochem Braat, Wilbert de Joode, Michael Moore
Quartet – Christian Ferlaino, Wilbert de Joode, Michael Moore, Eric Boeren

Don’t forget, this Sunday we switch to daylight savings time so turn your clock one hour forward!

Come join us the last Sunday of every month at Zaal 100 for informal evenings hosted by members of Doek. These nights function as a forum for people to come together, play, listen, discuss and generally have a good time. Entrance is always free.
