It’s coming up to Doek Festival time of year again. This year we’re turning the Bimhuis upside down for our own production: The Market. For two glorious days the Bimhuis will be transformed into a meeting place where all sorts of exchanges take place, from goods and services to smells, flavours, cultures, sounds, glances, blushes, curses and currency. Gezocht: enthousiaste mensen die de Amsterdamse avontuurlijke muziekscene in kaart willen brengen

De Amsterdamse scene voor jazz, geïmproviseerde en andere avontuurlijke muziek moet beter in kaart gebracht worden. Vrijwel dagelijks spelen en organiseren de meest creatieve muzikanten op uiteenlopende plekken in de hoofdstad: kleine én grote podia tot en met intieme huiskamerconcerten en eenmalige initiatieven.

Om een georganiseerde agenda te ontwikkelen en bij te houden, zoeken we naar een groep enthousiaste mensen van muzikanten, muziekfanaten en/of organisatoren die een paar uur in de maand willen besteden aan hetgeen wat bruisende wereldsteden als Berlijn en Chicago wél hebben, maar Amsterdam ontbeert en zo nodig heeft: een overzichtelijk beeld van wat er per dag te zien en horen is.…

Doek Festival receives Effe label

The Doek Festival has been approved to receive the EFFE label. EFFE stands for European Festivals, Festivals for Europe. Carrying the label means the Doek Festival will be promoted by EFFE and be placed in the running for the EFFE awards, to be announced in September.…

Michael Moore is hosting three special concerts at Splendor this winter. Starting in January, he will perform trio with long time collaborator Rogerio Bicudo and young bassist and vocalist with a mesmerizing voice, Magali Datzira. Then in February, a special edition of his Fragile Quartet featuring the incomparable Gerry Hemingway on drums.…
