We are overjoyed to have two fantastic new members join the Doek artistic core: Ada Rave and Marta Warelis. And with them come a number of excellent new ensembles. …Yes, we’re doing it again. Every 2nd Friday of the month in De Ruimte – Space Is the Place ft. Doek followed by The 2nd Stop is Jupiter. At 21:00 you can listen to the best in improvised music from Doek musicians and friends. At 23:00 we clear the tables so you can dance to live music til you drop – OK, til 03:00. We are very pleased to welcome two wonderful musicians – Ada Rave reeds and Marta Warelis piano – to the Doek collective. We have been following their paths for quite some time, since Ada took part in the Dutch Impro Academy and Marta studied with Michael Moore in Groningen, and it’s been great to see how they have become integral and indispensable members of Amsterdam’s impro scene. Both already play in Doek groups, Ada playing in the Kaja Draklser Octet, and Marta in the trio Omawi.…

Doek and Holysloot Kunst in de Kerk are happy to announce the first Holysloot bicycle tour. The Amsterdam Real Book began as a project that connected the new up-and-coming impro scene with the older generation of improvisers. The Amsterdam scene enjoys international fame and respect not only for its experimental character but also for a plethora of collaborations. On Sunday 29 September we’ve set out a bicycle route with short concerts at different stops, ending with a dinner organized by Boergondineren.…
