This night’s program: the return of the veterans of the new Amsterdam impro scene, The Ambush Party. Plus a solo performance by Jasper Stadhouders!
Then over to the big room for the Second Stop is Jupiter at 23:00, with danceable jazz, Turkish and cumbia music.
Space is the Place ft. Doek, followed by The Second Stop is Jupiter, will take place every 2nd Friday of the month from January until May.…
At the end of every year music journalists compile lists of musicians and concerts they felt were the highlights of the year. This year, once again, Doek was well represented with numerous accolades. Especially in the case of Kaja Draksler, far too many to mention! Kaja was honoured for her albums – Gledalec by the Kaja Draksler Octet and To Pianos, her duo with Eve Risser. She also topped lists in categories pianist, composer, group and new ensemble. Jasper Stadhouders found his name on countless lists especially in the category electric bass, most likely thanks to his playing with Ken Vandermark’s Made to Break whose new albums topped many lists.…
