Friday July 18th: 19:00 @ Café de Ceuvel: EKE, Harald Austbø, King Ayisoba and band.

A few weeks ago The Job played at the opening of a wonderful new place in Amsterdam Noord: De ceuvel.
Friday the 18th we are organizing another event there with EKE playing. Cellist Harald Austbø will play a solo set. The headliner will be King Ayisoba and band. Zea largely responsible for bringing this band all the way from Ghana will perform a DJ set bringing more music from all the world.…

Trombone phenomenon Wolter Wierbos presents three sunday afternoon concerts at Amphora Art in July with a changing line-up on sax and guitar, alongside an exhibition of art by Armando, Lucebert, Karel Appel and Greet Weitenberg. As intermezzo, interpretations of chansons from the french singer Barbara. There’s a bar and delicious finger food. What a nice way to spend a sunday afternoon…

What’s happening this Sunday? Well of course football: Netherlands – Mexico. And the last Doek @ Zaal 100 for the season. And the long-awaited Doek festival after after party. ALL ROLLED INTO ONE. If we get it all sorted out (and we’re pretty sure we will) then doors and bar will open at 17:45 and the match will be shown on a big screen. After the match we’ll move on to Indonesian snacks and prosecco, before moving into the big room for the fabulous All Ellington.…

21 June – 31 August Exhibition of sculptures by Herbert Nouwens with performances from Doek musicians
Doek will be interacting with Angels’ Share, a large sculpture exhibition by Herbert Nouwens, with 25 pieces spread around Cultuurpark Westergasfabriek and Sint Barbara cemetery. First up is ‘Little big band’ Available Jelly who will kick off at 4 pm during the exhibition opening on Saturday 21 June. Every Saturday afternoon at 5 pm, from 28 June until 23 August, a different improviser will give a solo performance at one of the sculptures.…

On the 10th of June E*Cinema Academy will be dedicated to the darling of film makers, the Super8 film, bringing together a special selection of films from different artists all shot on this format, some of which were recently preserved by EYE but have rarely been seen before.

The evening focuses on Dutch artist Jaap Pieters, probably the best known Super8 practitioner in Holland, also known as the EYE of Amsterdam.…
